Volkswagen has announced the introduction of the chatbot ChatGPT into the multimedia systems of its cars. This artificial intelligence is now available in the ID series electric cars, as well as in the new Golf, Tiguan and Passat models.
ChatGPT is accessed through the IDE voice assistant, which allows drivers to control various vehicle functions such as climate control and navigation. However, the possibilities of ChatGPT are much wider, Volkswagen notes.

For example, according to the company, you can use ChatGPT to find out about tourist attractions or find out the results of yesterday's match of your favorite sports team. The chatbot can also help children solve math problems.
Car owners do not need to create accounts or download applications to use the chatbot. Just say "Hello IDA" or press the button on the steering wheel. ChatGPT is available in several languages, including English, Spanish, Czech and German.
Volkswagen assured that the use of ChatGPT is completely confidential and anonymous, and the chatbot does not have access to car data.
