American producer John Landau has died at the age of 63. His collaboration with director James Cameron earned him three Oscar nominations and a win in the Best Film category for Titanic.

His death was announced by Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman. "John was a visionary whose exceptional talent and passion brought some of the most unforgettable stories to life on screen. His outstanding contribution to the film industry has left an indelible mark, and he will be greatly missed," the statement said (quoted by the Associated Press).
The cause of death is not specified in the statement. According to Variety, the producer died of cancer.
John Landau was the producer of the films "Avatar" (2009), "Avatar: The Way of Water" (2022) and "Titanic" (1997), which occupy the first, third and fourth places in the list of the highest-grossing films in history. He has also worked on films such as "Darling, I Shrunk the Children" (1989), "Dick Tracy" (1990, the film won three Oscars), "Solaris" by Steven Soderbergh (2002) and "Alita: Battle Angel" by Robert Rodriguez (2019).
