Viggo Mortensen, 65, known for his role as Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, recently announced in an interview that he was ready to reprise this role. The announced film "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" may bring back many characters from the original trilogy, including Aragorn. Mortensen said he is ready to return to this role if it matches his age and other parameters.
The actor stressed that he enjoyed playing Aragorn and would only return to the role if it made sense.
"I really liked it. I would only come back if I was suitable for it in terms of my age and other things. I would only do this if I was suitable for this character. It would be foolish to do otherwise," he said.
However, Mortensen also noted that he does not yet know the details of the plot and is not sure if his character will be in the new film.
The premiere of the film "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" is scheduled for 2026, directed and starring Andy Serkis, known for his role as Gollum in the films "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit".
